QUESTION (from Lucia):

I am so happy with the device. I have a question: is there any way to delete a project that I already create?

ANSWER:

No, not right now. Our general strategy is to never delete data, for a wide variety of reasons. That being said, we are planning to have a 'active/inactive' type filter on project so once a project is completed, you can just make it inactive and it won't show up in normal searches.

As a follow-up to this question, is there a way to deal with data that one might not want to include in an analysis? Not realizing that it would be impossible to delete either data or a project, I have uploaded a few rows of toy data that were generated by testing the MultiSpeq on plants that aren't in my study area or even the right species. I haven't quite figured out the "series" function yet, but I'm guessing I can manually choose which data to include in a download or an analysis—but should I forget, will flagging these data do the trick?

P.S. Do you prefer questions to come via the forum, or email? Cheers!

Meera,

You can "flag" data. This does not delete the data but hides it, so that it does not appear on your graphs or in your data tables. To flag data from the spreadsheet view: 1) click on the measurement ID of the measurement that you want to remove (1st column from the left), this will bring up the single measurement view; 2) On the ride side of the screen, select issue; 3) in the text box add the reason why you are flagging the data and select submit. You will need to refresh the page for the flagged data to disappear from your dataset.

You can also get to the single measurement view by clicking in the point of interest on the scatterplot.

If at some point in the future you want to look at "flagged" data, you can select include flagged datasets from the filter settings.

Meera, I prefer questions over the forum, this way if someone else is struggling with a similar issue they can come here for help.

Yes, you can delete a project that you've created. To do so, go to the project page and select "Delete" from the Settings menu.

That's not possible I guess as there is no such options available in the project settings page.

Yes, there are no options available to the user to delete a project entirely.
