4a - v1.0 FACTORY CALIBRATION

Overview

Description

Do not recalibrate you device unless you know what you're doing! If you have questions or concerns about your device, please ask on the forums

This calibration includes:

  1. Calibration of absorbance values in the 650 and 950 range to Minolta SPAD (0 ~ 75)
  2. Calculation of near infra-red baseline values from the LEDs themselves, used to improve accuracy of detector response.

v1.0 CALIBRATION: Relative Chlorophyll (SPAD)

Description

Relative Chlorophyll, also called SPAD, is measured by comparing absorbance in the red (650nm) and in the NIR (940nm). The red absorbance is used to identify 'greenness' of the a leaf because something which appears green is reflecting green light but absorbing red light. The NIR absorbance is used to estimate the thickness ...

v1.0 CALIBRATION: IR Baseline

Description

When measuring chlorophyll fluorescence (which peaks between 680 - 700nm), it's important to ensure that all of the signal being measured is in fact chlorophyll fluorescence and not something else. By using pulse modulation, we already filter out any constant background light in the 680 - 700nm range, which addresses a large ...
