Hello! Can anybody inform me , please, which is the unit for Chlorophyll content ? In the guide I read that it has a relative value with no unit. Can you be more specific about this ? Thank you

Hi Alina,

The relative chlorophyll content is derived from absorbance measurements at 655 nm and at 950 nm. Absorbance has no unit, so when calculating the relative chlorophyll content you end up with a unit-less value. This measurement is only determining the relative content, whereas absolute chlorophyll content is determined by extracting chlorophyll with an organic solvent and is usually written in mg Chl/ml.

I hope that helps ~Sebastian
