Momodou G Bah
Michigan State University
LAST 12 MONTHS
Born into poverty in The Gambia, Momodou G. Bah, a freshman in Michigan State University persevered over unimaginable obstacles and strived against all odds to complete his high school and secure a full MasterCard Foundation scholarship. During his internship as a Veterinary laboratory technician, in the livestock department under his country’s Ministry of Agriculture, Momodou saw the pain farmers endure as a result of agriculture related problems. He also saw the helplessness of those affected as they find no solutions to their problems and are left to suffer. To have all these and other problems solved after his graduation, Momodou plans to pursue a major degree in Biochemistry and molecular biology/Biotechnology in Michigan State University. His dream is to become an agricultural scientist (Biochemist/Biotechnologist) who will engage in research that will help enhance the development of agriculture in the country and increase food production in Africa at large. Finally, Momodou enjoys listening to people who inspire him with their motivational stories and speeches. For that reason, he always appreciates and credits the love, support and advise that he receive from his family, friends and community members. All of these as a result have instilled in him the need to pursue his academic goals and commitment to give back to the people of his country and Africa after his graduation.
