Chitedze Research Station
LAST 12 MONTHS
My main research thrust is farming systems research. I focus on investigating how current global food and agricultural systems can engage on a more sustainable pathway in order to meet challenges such as climate change, poverty, biodiversity loss and environmental degradation. I work in interdisciplinary team drawing on competence from both natural and social sciences such as soil science, agronomy, plant breeding, extension and economics. This enables me to investigate farming systems and its transformations by integrating concerns with agronomic practices, technology development, development of improved farming methods, and biodiversity in agricultural systems and environmental impacts of agricultural production.
